DIOP member process guide

DIOP Membership

An applicant for DIOP membership must be a Member of the Hong Kong Psychological Society (HKPS). Please refer to HKPS website for HKPS membership application.

Besides the HKPS membership, DIOP full membership also requires the applicants to:

(a) have completed an accredited postgraduate training (Master/MPhil or PhD / Doctorate) in industrial-organizational psychology. This industrial-organizational psychology degree has to be a second degree beyond a first degree in psychology; and

(b) have satisfactorily completed a minimum of 1,000 hours of supervised practical experience within the Master’s Degree and/or after graduation in at least one of the IO psychology key topic areas. This requirement may be waived if the applicant has 4 years of full-time equivalent experience in IO psychology post-graduation.

Professional Registration

Full members of the DIOP are eligible to become registered industrial-organizational psychologists with HKPS. All registered industrial-organizational psychologists hold a master or doctoral degree in industrial-organizational psychology from a recognized university and/or have substantial years of relevant practical experience in the field, as approved by the Executive Committee of the DIOP.
