Rules of Division

GRANDFATHER CLAUSE (expired by May 2004)

 

Application for Membership through the Grandfather Clause is open to Fellows, Associate Fellows or Graduate Members of the Hong Kong Psychological Society. They should meet both the Qualification and the Competency criteria, as assessed by the Committee of the Industrial-Organizational Psychology Division (or, before its formation, by the working group for the establishment of the I-O Division). The period for admission under the grandfather clause is within the first year of the establishment of the Division.

Qualification Criteria:

 

A PhD/doctorate degree in psychology (I-O related), plus 2 years of post-qualification, solid contribution in the research and teaching of I-O psychology; or solid and full time I-O work experiences (meeting the competency criteria - see below);

.

A Master degree in psychology (I-O related), plus 5 years of post-qualification, solid and full time I-O work experiences (meeting the competency criteria); or
A Bachelor degree in psychology, plus 10 years of post-qualification, solid and full time I-O work experiences (meeting the competency criteria).
Competency Criteria:
Knowledge in I-O research methodologies and statistical analyses;

Interactive skills in I-O applications;
Knowledge and practice of ethical, legal and professional standards in the I-O field; AND
at least TWO areas of core competencies (with demonstrated in-depth knowledge and work experiences) - see below

Personnel selection, placement and assessment

Performance management and appraisal
Motivation, leadership, group and work behaviour
Organizational development and change
Consumer behaviour and marketing behaviour
Ergonomics and human factors
Management/staff training and development
